There's only one thing that's ever really stuck out to me. The noise Mericarol/Merikle/Mericus make while you fight them is reused from the demon dog things from the original House of The Dead

I made a vignette one as well but the image is a bit off centre. Given the size of the logo perhaps the original square is fine. I shall let you be the judges :3
