Cannot apply the Ingame patch correcly

Recommended Posts

Hi there ! o/

So im having an issue with the game recently , it's been a long time since i played the game so i thought i'd revisit it and hunt some goodies.

Unfortunatly , i've been having an issue with the ingame patcher doing an error 903 when it tries to download the "launcher.exe" or "psobb.exe" either of theses two. Most irritating thing is that it makes a false positive on my Anti Virus program so i have to do a bunch of stuff for it not to make the files into the quarantine section and make it unavailable for me to restore.

I tried instaling the game into my C:/ drive , surprisingly it did work for 1 time yesterday but now it dosent work anymore. I really tried everything i could , heck i tried instaling it in every directories i could ever think off and it just wont work. Did i skiped something ? Did i do something wrong ? If someone can help me on this that'll be awesome. Thanks a lot !

PS: I know i could've gave up and go to another server but i made some progress that i could've never acheved in Ultima before so , yeah. There's that. Also , oof.

Better whitelist the whole destiny psobb directory.

When you still get the error 903, just try it a few more times.

Something like that should happen if the AV interferes or u got bad internet connection ...like i have...

Hi ! Thanks for your quick awnser.

Unfortunatly that dident do mutch , i tried to uninstal it multiple times and even cut my router multiple times but it still wont pass the 903 error.

Do you have any other tips you could give me ? Also , nah my internet is pretty fast , so that shouldn't be the problem here.

Yeah 903 is when something deletes the files during downloading. Keep in mind PSO downloads the files with a .patch extension (i.e. psobb.exe.patch), maybe whitelisting those filenames in particular helps, if you don't want to whitelist the entire directory.

Here's virus reports:

psobb.exe: https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/4693e7d2f4155256775d8483d814d7ce206ec30bceb6dcca4e66b64d81a312fd/detection 15/67

psobbw.exe: https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/51a056a9459cd5efdf91ce1c589231c443415089b2469975ff354c4b4cc891da/detection 3/67

launcher.exe https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/08dad5812da45fe37f72d62cd3b3a70aeb3e73b5e902d4f765db06b214a544a2/detection clean

The only thing different about psobbw.exe compared to psobb.exe is the changed resolutions, yet it has 12 less flags. I'm assuming they just flag psobb.exe because the filename has a bad rep.

Ever thought it could be the fault of previous temporary files? maybe try some CCleaner to fix this but make sure you know what you does

try to use this one and whitelist it again.

if its not working when using the launcher, doubleclick on the psobb.exe.

Whoah. Odd. Pretty weird why theses files have a false positive. I should be carefull when i turn my antivirus on now. Thanks on the info ! Really apreciate everyone's help on this !
